Should PC have forums?
When I first started out in photography, I used to love Foto.no. It had a strong community with photo critique etc. I used to be active on DPChallenge and on PhotoSIG, but they both seem to have grown out of control, and they were a veritable wild-west of people posting all sorts. I gave up on all of the above a long time ago, and I haven’t been able to find a good forum that’s worth going to.
So… Do any of you know of any good forums worth hanging out on? Or – and this is my real question, I guess – should I have a forum for my readers right here on Photocritic?

My day job, if it can be called that, is being a writer. I've got one book out there so far and it's awesome, so go ahead and buy a copy! It's available from
In front of you, five hyperactive men with guitars, drums, and microphones. Behind you, five thousand fans. In your hands, a camera... You're going to need more than just a little bit of good luck to pull this one off. That's where this book comes in.
Take a Canon EOS 450D. Attach a Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens. Hit the streets of London. See what happens.

Insights, suggestions and comments
I often stop by dcresource.com and look around the forum there and post maybe once or twice a month. Some Flickr groups and photo blogs also have good information and debates etc…
I use both dgrin and FM as well as our own local photography clubs forum

hmmm… seems to me that most people like to choose the first possible option. Just looking at the three polls going on in here, and all of them have the most votes on the first option, second option is second and so on… If i’m ever going to put a poll on my website about whether I should do something or not, I’ll definately put the option I’d like to get the most votes as the first one! :)
Anyway, on to the point… Haven’t been reading a lot of photography forums, but i’m sure one more well maintained forum with interesting topics wouldn’t hurt anyone. So, sure. Go ahead! And yes, I voted on that… :)
Err, no, that was a bug in my voting software, which made it sort by highest number of votes. I’ve turned that off now – thanks for the heads-up!

I like Fred’s site forum. It is by far the best photography forum for photography.
