By the way the second picture isn't "the" Mount Fuji. I guess I could have been more specific in the first place, but the mountain is actually called Rishiri Fuji.  It's on Rishiri Island, which is a volcanic island off the North coast of Hokkaido. In fact it's one of the most Northern Points in Japan.
