DIY lighting roundup
So, photography is nowhere unless you have some good lighting. Therefore, one of the most important things you could do, is to have a collection of tricks up your sleeve which will be useful for collecting, distributing, and aiming light. In our very first round-up article, we’re taking our e-surfboards around the interweb to look at a series of cool, relatively cheap DIY projects for making photography lights.
- Making a lightbox out of foamboard
- Create a Light circle out of MDF and some standard lightbulbs. A similar light ring wich looks a little prettier is also available.
- Make your own light tent, which also doubles as a light box.
- Create your own backdrops
- Not good enough for you? How about a full DIY studio layout?
- If you are still doing “proper” printing, how about a Do It Yourself light source for contact printing? This discussion also has a few interesting pointers in other lighting areas.

Is there anyway I can get to the full DIY studio layout site - it must have gone down?
if someone could email me the link or page or document that was there that would be great
Thanks for the round-up. Keep up the good work.
