How Big Can I Print This Photo?

It’s a question that keeps haunting the digital camera world again and again - how big, exactly, can you print a photo taken with a X megapixel digital camera?

The answers seem to differ a lot, partially because of the various definitions. In a bid to put an end to all the half-arsed opinions and semi-valid arguments, Design 215 have taken one for the team, and explain it all… Nevermind that I don’t quite agree with them, but it’s worth having a read either way. Pentax tries another dSLR

pentax-k10d.jpgPentax seem to have been relegated to ‘the kid who keeps trying’ behind the furious innovation and stone-hard competition between Canon and Nikon. You can’t really blame them for keeping at it, though: The market is huge, and added variety is always welcome.

Time will show if they can make a dent in the vast domination by the Big Two, but with 10 megapixels, built-in optical image stabiliser, automatic dust remover, and high build-quality, it seems as if they might have a shot.

What if there was a web-site out there that explained in great detail how cameras work, history of photography, and offer up a ton of cheap mods you can do to a camera to broaden its use to astrophotography, micro photography, and lots of other nifty stuff?
